Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Wove collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. In short: we collect only the name and email you give us so we can contact you about Wove Node, we do not sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Effective July 29, 2026
1. Who we are and what this covers
This Privacy Policy applies to the Wove marketing website at wovesleep.com (the “Site”), including the waitlist and journal signup forms. Wove(“we,” “us,” or “our”) is the controller of the personal information described here.
It does not cover the Wove Node device or any companion app, which are still in development and will have their own privacy notice when they launch.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Waitlist: your first name (required), last name (optional), and email address.
- Journal: your email address.
Information collected automatically
When you load the Site, our hosting and content-delivery providers process limited technical data such as your IP address and basic request metadata. We use this only to serve the Site and to prevent spam and abuse (for example, rate-limiting signups). This data is transient and is not stored in our signup database. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics.
Under California law, the only category of personal information we collect is Identifiers (such as your name, email address, and IP address). We do not collect payment information, health data, precise location, or other sensitive personal information through this Site.
3. How we use your information
- To contact you about Wove Node early access, if you joined the waitlist.
- To send you the Wove journal once that mailing is switched on, if you subscribed. (No journal email is being sent yet; your address is simply saved until then.)
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site and to prevent abuse.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you.
4. Our basis for using it: your consent
We collect and use your name and email on the basis of the consent you give when you tick the box and submit a signup form. You can withdraw that consent at any time — by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or by emailing us at [email protected] — without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it.
5. How we share your information
We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
We disclose personal information only in these limited ways:
- Service providers. We use third-party providers — described by category rather than by name: cloud hosting and database providers, a content-delivery and security network, and (once it is switched on) an email-delivery provider. They process personal information only on our behalf, under contract, and only to provide those services to us.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, or where we believe it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Wove, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If Wove is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in who controls your information.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your name and email for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purpose you gave them — that is, until you ask us to delete them, you unsubscribe, or the waitlist or journal is wound down. Transient technical data used for security is short-lived and is not retained in our signup database.
7. How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), parameterized database queries, and restricted access to the data. That said, no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You can, at any time:
- Unsubscribe from any email using the link it contains.
- Ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to provide a copy, to correct it, or to delete it — just email [email protected].
We will respond within a reasonable time and within any period required by law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (the “CCPA”) gives you the following rights:
- Right to know / access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclose it to.
- Right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
Because we do not sell or share personal information and do not collect sensitive personal information through this Site, there is nothing to opt out of or to limit — but you may still exercise your rights to know, access, correct, and delete. Whether or not the CCPA currently applies to us, we honor these requests. To make one, email [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, and you may use an authorized agent to act on your behalf.
10. Children’s privacy
This Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
11. Where your information is handled
We are based in the United States and process personal information there. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand your information will be handled in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we will update the effective date at the top and, where appropriate, take additional steps to let you know. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
